Join us at the 2024 Forest Products Society International Conference

The FPS 2024 IC is dedicated to encouraging and facilitating the development and application of technical knowledge that will enable its attendees to derive maximum benefit from renewable wood-based materials and forest products.

Not only can you get a close-up look at the cubes, but you’ll also network, participate in discussions on the state of forest products research, and learn about industry innovations from leading experts.

The IMTA will attend the conference on Thursday to provide a presentation that updates the one we gave last year. Then, on Friday, we’ll head to Oak Ridge National Labs to see the cubes in place, fully instrumented.

IMTA members and ORNL are leading a session where you’ll dive deep into the evolving world of mass wood buildings and their significant thermal envelope advancements. This “Mass Wood Building Thermal Envelope Update & Applications” seminar presents a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge energy efficiency in wood construction, a topic of increasing importance as the industry shifts towards sustainable, panelized Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) residential projects.

Discover what mass wood truly means in the context of energy efficiency through the lens of the influential collaboration between the International Mass Timber Association (IMTA) and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This partnership heralds a new era in evaluating the thermal benefits of mass wood, offering insights that resonate with today’s green building practices.

Our speakers are poised to shed light on the forefront of mass wood research and application.

Due to limited space at ORNL, we need to know if you plan to attend.  The meeting there will be on Friday, June 7.  Please send an email to intlmasstimberalliance@gmail.com for more details.
